Details
Located just 2-hours north of Vancouver, Whistler is Canada’s crown jewel of ski resorts.  Host to the official alpine skiing events of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, Whistler is one of the largest ski resorts in the world and has been consistently named as North America’s best place to ski and stay by numerous sources including Conde Nast Traveler’s magazine.

Whistler boasts over 8,100 skiable acres, 200 marked ski runs, 37 lifts, 16 alpine bowls, and 3 glaciers over 2 mountains that are connected by both the Peak-2-Peak Gondola and a massive pedestrian village at the base of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. Whistler Village has it all: the amenities of both major cities and a world-class resort, plus a vast selection of shops, restaurants, bars, cafés, and nightclubs for all your entertainment needs both during and after skiing hours have ended.

The Peak-2-Peak Gondola is a breathtaking 4.4-kilometre, 11-minute journey that is suspended 436-metres above the valley floor. This world-record breaking engineering feat provides skiers with quick and convenient access to the ski runs of both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains directly from their summits, while also offering an iconic 360-degree sightseeing experience of the surrounding mountains.

Last season, 2010/2011, Whistler received its second largest recorded snowfall with nearly 16-metres in accumulated powder. The same optimal skiing conditions are expected with another La Nina weather pattern forecasted for this 2011/2012 winter season.
