Although Vancouver is a young city, it is rich in culture and adventures can be found in every neighbourhood of the city. Delegates will have the opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the place we call home. We are proud to present a list of exciting and affordable tours for our WorldMUN 2012 delegates. From concrete jungles to historic mid-rises; breathtaking vistas to tranquil riversides; death-defying heights to subtle waterways; our in-conference trips and excursions will satiate all your sightseeing desires.There is something for everyone here in Vancouver. As WorldMUN 2012 delegates, you will be privileged guests in this very welcoming city. There are countless stories to be heard and memories to be shared. The In-Conference Trips of WorldMUN 2012 Vancouver are provided at-cost by:
  • Mako Travel: Provider of the Sunday Half-Day In-Conference Trips, based in Vancouver, Mako Travel has been spreading the knowledge of tourism throughout the world by helping port cities or regions with deep or ocean harbours develop a sophisticated and prosperous economy by cultivating and fostering tourism industries.

SUNDAY, MARCH 11th (Half-Day In-Conference Trips by MAKO TRAVEL)
  • Option 1: Capilano Suspension Bridge & City Tour Excursion
    • Time: 13.00 to 17.15
    • Details: Located just north of Vancouver, the Capilano Suspension Bridge is one of Vancouver’s oldest and most famous attractions. The 136-metre (446-ft) long suspension bridge spans a 70-metre (230-ft) canyon high above the Capilano River. Also check-out the other attractions of the 27-acre park, including Treetops Adventure and the brand new Cliffwalk! Visitors will have the opportunity to test their love of heights while immersed in a natural Pacific Northwest forest environment. The Half-Day Trip includes a Vancouver City Tour before embarking to the historic and famous Capilano Suspension Bridge (ticket admission at bridge is not included in price).

  • Option 2: Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre & City Tour Excursion
    • Time: 13.00 to 17.15
    • Details: Discover the attractions of this beautiful city including the famous Stanley Park, Prospect Point, Lions Gate Bridge, Queen Elizabeth Park, and the Vancouver Aquarium! The famous Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park is Canada's first and largest aquarium, and is also one of North America's largest with species hailing from as far away as the Arctic and the Amazon. The Aquarium is home to over 70,000 aquatic species, including 33,700 fishes, nearly 30,000 invertebrates, more than 350 snakes and frogs. Among these are adorable belugas, seals, otters, and dolphins!   • Option 3: Downtown & Olympic Waterfront Tour
    • Time: 12.20 to 14.20
    • Details: Take a stroll through the Downtown Financial District and Vancouver's breathtaking waterfront with a Tour Guy. On this 2-hour easy-walking tour we give a complete overview of Downtown Vancouver and venture into some of the city's historic buildings.     • Time: Buses depart Vancouver at 2.00 PM; last bus returns to Vancouver at 2.00 AM

WENDESDAY, MARCH 14th (2-hour In-Conference Trips)
  • Option 5: Gastown & Chinatown Tour
    • Time: 12.20 to 14.20
    • Details: Explore the streets of Vancouver with a local guide who's sure to knock your socks off. Gastown is where the City of Vancouver began, and where some of our more "colourful" history exists. Meet some of the interesting characters that have helped shape the city, walk the cobblestone roads and get a picture with the famous Steam Clock. From Gastown the tour moves South into Chinatown where your local guide will introduce you to the Associations, Yip Sang, Dr. Sun Yat Sen and many other influential Chinese immigrants who played a major role not only in Vancouver's young history, but their influence spread world wide.
