Lance Zhou
Performance Coordinator
Hello WorldMUNers!
My name is Lance Zhou, and I am the Performance Coordinator for WorldMUN 2012. First of all, I would like to heartily welcome all of you to the 21st World Model United Nations Conference, held in beautiful Vancouver, Canada. It will be my responsibility to bring you the most scintillating performances for the Opening Ceremonies, and start the conference off with a bang.
I am a third year student at UBC, a major in Economics and minor in Math. Academically I am interested in Public Policy and Economic Development, but in my spare time I obsessively read news sites like the BBC, play tennis, and engage in intellectual conversations about sport (it is possible!).
For myself, Model UN has made me more curious about the world around me, as well as fuel my academic interests in University. Having just returned from a semester abroad in the University of Hong Kong, I have gained a more rounded understanding of the effects of globalization and international culture. I hope that for all of you participating in WorldMUN that you will find this experience rewarding, and allow it to deepen your knowledge of the captivating world of global politics.
I look forward to seeing you all!
Lance Zhou
